“Reminisce” Oil on Linen, 20x16”

Inspired by the incredible portraiture of John Singer Sargent, I created this piece using painterly strokes in oil. The model was captured in a moment of contemplation in the midst of a breakup with a lover and considering her new life ahead. I sensed a great sense of courage and strong determination in her character.
